India~

Chennai, my 2nd trip to India, both on work trips. And I almost forgotten about this blog that I have. So I decided to revive it with a photo.

I think I got bitten by wanderlust looking at my past photos. It may be time to dust out my passport for travel again?

London - Work and Play

Had a work trip to London, and took the opportunity to extend a couple of days for leisure! Weather is depressing - gloomy most parts of the trip, but i should count my blessings that it's not raining all the time!

Anyway, the main attraction for me is.... rocks!
What else but stonehenge?

Did some other touristy stuff like.....

And the Roman baths....

Just to illustrate how gloomy the weather is...

Everytime i go overseas, i am always tempted to buy a house/apartment there to either live in or be a landlord (not that i can afford to!)

Compared to our HDBs, these apartments have more character!

And shopping at their equivalents of 'pasar malam'

And instead of taking cars.... choice of taking boats is available too!

Well, can only dream on!

Taiwan 2015

Haven't been to Taiwan for a couple of years, and it was nice to visit once again. Since this is not a business trip, had the opportunity to venture out of Taipei city, and went to other areas of Taiwan, including Tainan (South) and around Taichung (central) area.

The most beautiful place i would say is at He Huan Shan, where waking up at 3am in the morning is definitely worth it!

Such roads (from the mountain after watching the sun-rise) always makes me want to take a convertible through it!

Kenting has pretty nice view and some amazing beaches too! Lush greenery is very soothing (excluding the fact that there are tons of tourists around me at that time).

Taiwan also has a famous green tunnel. I got to say, my photography skills really is not up to scratch. Trying to avoid all the long hanging branches from knocking my head and all the people around me in that small dinghy boat. My photos really do not do much justice to this scenic place.

I do encourage you to take a boat through this green tunnel - imagine those ancient Chinese movies where there small slow boats drift through a calm peaceful river... and this is it!

Howdy Mate~

Took a trip down under for a vacation. Haven't had one since a long time, and while i have been to Australia a couple of times, it is always for work but never for vacation. So had a chance to take some pictures other than the standard Opera House/Harbour Bridge - even though i did take a few shots of those!

Sydney has a lot of beaches/rock pools, and it must be amazing to have a coastal home and wake up to the sea!

The Bondi Beach Rockpool

The Bronte Beach - The rockpool here is closer to the waves and for some reason, lesser people swimming in it, even though i think it is nicer. The fact that it is further away than Bondi could have something to do with it.

Some surfing?

How about taking a perch and admiring the sea at a ledge?

Besides these 2 beaches, there is still the overly popularized Manly Beach, which while i visited, i didn't take any photos. Some bush walking from Manly area though, and these are the treks taken

The trekking brought us to the a lookout for this view at North Head:

Even when you walk further on to Fairfax... the foggy weather didn't really give a good view at all. Supposed to be able to see Sydney City from here.

Actually i prefer the more peaceful soothing kind of beaches. One of the less touristy area (though still touristy), Balmoral Beach
Feel like owning a yatch?

I am a car person though..... can you imagine driving through this? Long sweeps of empty road by the coast. Even better if it is a convertible.

Presenting the Grand Pacific Drive!

Also did a day trip - paid a visit to Sydney's most famous sister - the 3 sisters at the Blue Mountain!
Tthe view of Jamison Valley is really really nice ~

Doesn't look very blue to me, but the blue is from the eucalyptus trees' vapor (vicks vapour rub anyone?) which will give a blue overhang over the valley/mountain ranges.

From other lookouts, you can see the bridal veil fall - although there is not much water for the veil to form... luck has it that there is a rainbow, which though small, is still visible.

That about sums up the trip. Beaches, mountains and, not forgetting.... the iconic Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Night view:
And the Opera House, standing on the Harbour Bridge.
Quite a nice place and weather is fantastic given that it is nearing the end of summer. Definitely worth a visit.

Singapore Marina Bay Sands Skyline

Was in the office surroundings one day, and thought this was a very nice night view of Singapore's skyline. Snapped a panorama with my phone and edited with GIMP software.

Who said Singapore has no nice view?
Need to upgrade my skill though!

Bali

Has it been that long since i went overseas for a vacation? Been travelling for a while but is mainly for work. And rarely do i have the time for a vacation, have a few days before changing my job, so off to a beach resort for a few days.

Kintamani Volcano... climbing to a higher altitude area does wonder for the weather! Especially when it was scorching at Bali.

How can one say that he have been to Bali without visiting a paddy field?

A 'floating' temple... the Ulundanu Temple. The water is supposed to cover the base of the temple.... for some reason the water was receded, so it was kinda dry.... a bit disappointing not to see it the way it was supposed to be, but the lake was awesome!

Visited a local market after the temple visit. Lots of local products here, at a cheap price too!

Another temple visit. A temple which is previously exclusive to the royal family. Each levels of the pagoda is supposed to represent the different deities in the Hindi religion.

They say that the sunset at Tanah Lot is one of the best... so naturally, like all good tourists, a visit is mandatory.

So little vacation time! Till the next time then.

Bonjour France!

Visited France for the first time... and took the opportunity to test out the new (well not so new) toy. Uploading some pictures taken which i felt was the most picturesque. Unfortunately, i felt i wasn't able to fully capture the feel as compared to when you are experiencing it yourself.

To the best that i can, enjoy the pictures!

View from Cassis, Les Calanques.

View from Cassis beach... birds are so low-flying that i felt like i could reach out and catch one.

A water-mill... where we stopped for lunch en-route to Giverny.

My favourite picture.... Les Baux village. Love the architecture. View is amazing when viewing from the look-out.

Monet's garden.... very peaceful. Monet's an artist whose paintings showed his passion for playing with light.

Nice.... 2 tone beach...

Love the way the rays break out from the clouds.

View from Castle-hill.... shows how densely packed Nice is.

Pont Du Gard... one of the must sees around Avignon.

Peaceful and sleepy town of St Torpez. Buy me a boat, and sail away!

And what is visiting France without the iconic Tour Effiel. Night view from the scenic river cruise. Stunning.

Hope for more trips and more pictures!
